What Is Self-Advocacy?

What Is Self-Advocacy?

What is Self-Advocacy?

It is the ability to articulate one’s needs & make informed decisions about the support necessary to meet those needs.

This is NOT easy…even for adults.  But nothing is impossible.  The word itself spells “I’M POSSIBLE”

What can Self-Advocacy look like?

Are you comfortable being assertive?

Do you know you legal rights?

Are you interested in fixing the problem for yourself…and/or many like you (i.e. systemic changes to laws and policies?

Then you might be a Warrior for Youth Justice!

Self-Advocacy may be difficult - but that does not mean that it is impossible.
Remember it literally spell “I’M POSSIBLE”!
